This is a weekly newsletter about bike trips, urban cycling, and a love for two-wheeled transit. The more time you spend on a bike, the better. I share new editions every Thursday, gearing you up for the ride ahead.
Here’s what we have today.

RIDE REPORT
Riding 750 Miles to a Wedding
If you can believe it, I’m back on the road again. This time from Boston to Virginia for a wedding. My close friends Emma and Michael are getting married Labor Day Weekend.
Many of you know I finished my Ph.D. in April, and this is what I’m doing full-time now. Riding my bike(s), writing the newsletter, and making videos. It’s hard to believe that this is working out.
Would I ride to the wedding if I didn’t do this as my “job”? Maybe. I’ve always loved doing things for the bit. I know something is ridiculous enough if it confuses or surprises people.
Bike check:
Trek Madone SL7 Gen 8 in Dark Star
Round aluminum handlebars with clip-on aerobars
Orlieb 3L top tube bag and 4.1L seat post bag
Nathan 6L pack
No tent or cookware. I’ll be couchsurfing the whole way down.
If you’re reading this line, then I wasn’t able to get to a computer and add an in-the-moment update. It is currently Sunday, and I’m prepping the newsletter. If everything is going to plan, by the time you read this, I should be in Virginia, 150 miles away from the wedding venue.
As usual, I’ll be posting daily short trip vlogs on my socials :)

WHAT I’M WATCHING
Cycling Through the Most US States in 24 Hours
Remember back in August 2024 when I set the world record for cycling through 8 states in 24 hours? Ollie from GCN attempted 10 states!
It was interesting watching how they made the YouTube video. I was taking notes because the video concept hit so close to home.
Side bar - a fellow Bostonian rode through 9 states this May. Just wanted to acknowledge him here.
